Since the launch of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master Brennan Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a colorful mix of characters, and a thrilling plot featuring divine entities, fiends, and dark forces growing in power within the urban setting.
Heads-up: Revealing details for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 follow below.
The Combat-Oriented Party Introduced
The third episode finished on a major cliffhanger and revealed the premier party of heroes who will separate from the primary party to embark on their own adventure, distinct from the other two tables.
The combat-focused team consists of the determined fighter (played by Travis Willingham), Thimble (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (the cast member), Wicander (the player), and Kattigan (the actor).
Dividing the Cast
Considering an extensive roster, it was evident from the beginning that having everyone at the same party would be unworkable.
That’s why, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, weaving together the personal journeys before splitting into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Strategists, and Explorers.
The Nature of the Combat Party
Per the DM, the warrior group is for players who prefer a traditionally charged fight-heavy narrative style where non-violent answers are scarce.
Initially, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might appear mismatched, but the actions of the third episode demonstrate why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the warrior group.
Motivations for Departure
For one thing, the team has a clear idea where to head next after a violent first encounter with the antagonists.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose passing initiated the narrative’s action—used the foes for his own means, entering the hidden lair, attacking the rogue, and stealing all the magical artifacts to auction.
Casimir then cleared his obligations and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond the city, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Moreover, each adventurer has a specific drive to leave the city the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as the companion and best friend, desires vengeance.
- Kattigan has experience in Timmony and warns that it is a hostile environment.
- The strong character and Wicander, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to eliminate Teor and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- However, their position as key figures in the influential clan could help the group access areas they normally couldn’t.
- Additionally, Teor vowed a eternal obligation to The savior for his rescue and will now go with him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
Lastly, all of them are sought by the authorities that rule the city for a multiple motives, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- The rogue and The character are notorious outlaws.
- The warrior and Wicander betrayed House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by the clan.
This means them few options but to head to Timmony in pursuit of the traitor.
