Agencies in the island state are working to identify a rosy sludge that has surfaced on a isolated coast, with some scientists anxious it could be an phytoplankton proliferation.

Widespread Presence Across Coastline

The rosy-colored ooze was found on a portion of a southern bay about 60 kilometers south of the city. A comparable ooze has also been noted on sections of a nearby shore and an additional coastal site.
