Netflix Chooses Ideal Actor for Bon Clay in the Hit Series Upcoming Installment
The Secret Organization is poised to play a huge role in the forthcoming season on Netflix of One Piece, though the real showdown won’t unfold until season 3, and a beloved, audience-beloved member has just been cast.
The streaming service revealed this week that the talented performer is now part of the One Piece upcoming season’s lineup and will play Bon Clay. This character possesses the power to morph into an identical duplicate of anyone they’ve touched with their right hand. The performer, who is gender non-conforming and goes by they/them, will depict a interpretation of that role reimagined as non-binary, rather than as a drag performer, in the live-action series, unlike the initial comic and cartoon version.
This performer will work alongside a number of new cast members set to bring Baroque Works to reality, including leader Mr. 0, brought to life by the well-known actor, Sophia Anne Caruso as Miss Goldenweek, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, who is also part of the lineup as the monarch of Alabasta.
Even though the role is a important part of Baroque Works, the persona won’t make their debut One Piece the upcoming installment. Considering season 2 set to cover the Little Garden segment, this represents a notable change in the schedule of the character’s debut, one that could indicate further changes to the narrative framework.
Their mix of excellent comedic sense and deep sensitivity makes them a perfect fit for the role. In addition to their recent voice performance in the youth-focused cartoon movie Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and numerous honors for penning and acting in the popular theatrical show Oh Mary!, highlighting the versatility they’ll add to one of One Piece’s highly regarded figures.
The platform’s adapted One Piece show is scheduled to come back for its second season on March 10th, 2026.
