The former Liverpool manager admits rejoining to coach Liverpool is plausible in theory.

Jurgen Klopp, who stepped down from Liverpool in 2024, indicated that a future comeback remains something that could happen. The 58-year-old, after a transformative nine-year spell featuring continental glory and the Reds’ first league title for three decades, now holds positions overseeing worldwide football within the Red Bull organization and in an advisory capacity to Germany's league body.

Fan Sentiment and Klopp’s Candid Remarks

The club claimed the Premier League under Arne Slot, though countless followers who adore the manager would embrace the notion that he might come back one day. In a wide-ranging interview, he shared with Steven Bartlett: “I stated I will never coach a different club in England. Which implies in case it's my former club...absolutely. Theoretically it’s possible.”

“I’m 58, which suggests the choice could be mine in a few years, who knows. Is a decision required immediately? If so, I wouldn't return. Fortunately, no such pressure exists. I'll wait and observe what lies ahead.”

What Would Lure Him Back?

When asked about which situations would have to unfold to bring him back to the touchline, Klopp admitted he isn't eager toward coming back. “I don’t even know exactly, I love what I do right now,” he commented. “I don't crave being a coach; No desire to be in the rain through long matches; I don’t miss going to media briefings repeatedly each week or constant media duties weekly.

“No nostalgia for the changing area as a dressing room, but sitting in a restaurant with the players enjoying conversation, is pleasant. Success was frequent so there was often a very good mood around the place. I can still hear Virgil [Van Dijk’s] laugh vividly recalled to illustrate.”

Commending Arne Slot

He commended regarding Arne Slot, crediting him for the adjustments that won the league last term. Liverpool have lost four consecutive matches across various tournaments following significant transfers, but he rubbished the idea it could be the start of a downward turn.

“[Liverpool have] a top-class attacker in Flo[rian] Wirtz, critics will regret if spoken against. A remarkable prospect. [Hugo] Ekitike, incredible player. They have a strong balanced team. No need for concern over the club, they will be fine.”

Emotional Tribute for the Late Forward

He shared movingly about the death of the Portuguese star, a player he signed during his tenure, and the effect on Liverpool. Jota lost his life in a car crash with his brother recently.

“How do you replace such an individual? It’s not about his footballing ability, his personality mattered. It's hard to picture the squad absent his presence. I find it difficult to discuss regarding this. A profound tragedy for the entire squad too. Not a single person will ever use it for poor performances yet it's the reality. Being in that space where he was omnipresent. Coping with it individually is difficult. Impossible.”
