English soccer star Michelle Agyemang, darts player Luke Littler and cricket star Davina Perrin have been selected as contenders for the 2025 Young Sports Personality of the Year award.

The three finalists have been celebrated for their remarkable achievements over the previous year.

Agyemang helped the Lionesses secure Euro 2025, Littler won the world title for the very first time, and Perrin rose to fame with a historic innings.

Littler was the recipient in 2024 after his remarkable rise.

The shortlisted athletes were revealed during a live broadcast on a national radio breakfast show.

The 2025 recipient will be announced during a live broadcast on the Sports Personality of the Year show on the 18th of December.

The show will be televised from 7 PM GMT.

The Football Star

Age: 19 Sport: Football

Only 90 days after her international debut, Agyemang played a pivotal and thrilling role in England's run to Euro 2025 glory.

She came off the bench to score key tying goals in both the quarter-final and semi-final.

Her incredible contributions led to her being named the best young player at the Euros.

Afterwards, she was awarded the prestigious Golden Girl honour for the best young player in Europe.

She was also nominated for the Kopa Trophy for the world's best under-21 female player.

Agyemang, who has been on loan at Brighton from Arsenal, sustained a serious knee injury in October.

"To be named a finalist for this award is a privilege," said Agyemang. "Thank you to God and I'm grateful for the support I've received from my inner circle and supporters."

Luke Littler

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

The year started for Littler in spectacular fashion as - aged 17 - he became the most youthful world title winner in history.

He secured a comprehensive triumph over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His follow-up triumph at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth individual to complete the prestigious three major tournament wins.

His success continued - his win in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he ascended to world number one for the maiden occasion.

At 18, he is the most youthful player to do so, breaking the previous record.

"To receive a nomination for the honour once more is a big honour," stated Littler. "Winning last year was a proud moment for me and I've had another unbelievable 12 months. I want to continue elevating darts."

Perrin's Profile

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's most exciting young talents and burst into the spotlight with an remarkable and historic innings in August.

Her magnificent 42-ball century in The Hundred is the quickest ever by an English female in T20s.

It also stands as the shared third-fastest women's T20 century in a major league or full member T20 international.

Perrin came in second place in the batting rankings and was named the young player of the year by the PCA.

"I'm truly honoured to be nominated for the Young Sports Star award," expressed Perrin. "It means a great deal. I hope it inspires more girls to get into cricket."
