Vince Zampella, a Gaming Pioneer, Has Passed Away in a California Car Crash

The co-creator of Call of Duty, who helped create the globally famous video game Call of Duty, has passed away in a traffic collision in California aged 55.

Zampella's death was confirmed by Electronic Arts, the parent company of Respawn Entertainment, the development studio which he helped establish.

The influential industry figure lost his life when his car crashed and caught fire on a freeway in LA on this past Sunday, according to.

"We are facing a heartbreaking loss, and we stand with Vince's loved ones, his family, and the countless individuals inspired by his creative vision," a representative from Electronic Arts commented.
